FREE Adobe Photoshop Tutorial (March 25th, 2010)

Hi Everyone! MISA is proud to present the Adobe Photoshop Event! We are inviting a special guest to come for an evening to show us some of the neat and exciting things you can do with Adobe Photoshop. The tutorial will be held in the Drake Computer Lab from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. All are welcome free of charge! That's right, this event will be open to ANYONE who is interested or wants to find out more on Adobe Photoshop! We encourage everyone to come as this event is unique and not offered anywhere else on campus. Take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about the latest graphics design!

On behalf of the Management Information Systems Association (MISA), welcome to the Asper School of Business! MISA is a growing student group that focuses on linking technology with business. We will be holding our eighth annual Biztek conference to offer Asper students an opportunity to interact with business leaders in Winnipeg, and to learn about how they use Management Information Systems in the workplace. This conference is open to all students interested in how technology affects the business community. It offers students the opportunity to attend workshops by business professionals, as well as the chance to network with them at a wine & cheese and over dinner. Biztek will be held at the beginning of November this year. Keep an eye out for our posters – the event sold out last year so get your tickets early!

MISA will also be sending students to compete in MIS competitions, such as CaseIT and JDC West. These competitions are beneficial to students by showing them how classroom knowledge can be applied to the business world, as well as offering them social and professional networking opportunities with other students and business professionals from around the world. In addition, MISA will be hosting a series of beginner and intermediate level Adobe Photoshop tutorials in the second term.

Joining MISA is a great way for students of all majors to learn more about technology and its uses in management. We welcome students of all levels of computer skills and majors to join our student group. Biztek 8.0 - November 6th, 2009

Biztek is the annual event held by the Management Information Systems Association (MISA). The goal of the event is to help students at the I.H. Asper School of Business to establish relationships with employers in the field of Management Information Systems, and explore possible career opportunities. Biztek invites successful leaders and employers in the management and IT fields to share their experiences with the students. Biztek will include a workshop in the afternoon, followed by a wine & cheese reception, and a dinner where students will have the ability to sit with the employer of their choice. Biztek is a great opportunity for businesses who want to meet and possibly recruit students within the MIS major. It also presents an opportunity for any students who are interested in working in the corporate IT field since Biztek attracts many students from non-MIS backgrounds, such as Marketing or Finance. Tickets are sold for 15$ for non-members and 10$ for members. Tickets go on sale October 21 - November 4.

These sessions will be hosted on campus during the winter term at a fee of 5$ per non-member, and is free if you are a MISA member. Sessions will be added if there is a high demand, but for now these tutorials will cover beginner and intermediate topics in Adobe Photoshop
